Museum hosts 'Being ___ at Christmas 2021'

The Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History will host "Being _____ at Christmas 2021" from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 25, virtually. Fill in your own blank … snowy, Jewish, happy, caring, Buddhist, generous, creative, friendly, etc.

Among the activities scheduled are:

  • Percussive storytelling from the Grammy Award-Winning artist, Cory Hills.

  • Kids concert featuring Alex and the Kaleidoscope

  • Tzedek Box-making with Eli Kaplan Wildmann.

Christmas trivia planned at Axe and Arrow Brewing

Join Trivia ME and Axe and Arrow Brewing at 7 p.m. Dec. 22 for Christmas Trivia.

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is Christmas Quizzo. The event will feature four rounds of trivia covering "Home Alone," "The Santa Clause," "Elf" and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation."

Quizzo is free to play and prizes will be given to the winner.

Celebrate Kwanzaa at the African American Museum in Philadelphia

Kwanzaa, an annual celebration of African-American culture, will be celebrated in the U.S., from Dec. 26 through Jan. 1.

The celebration features the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa, which are Umoja/unity, Kujichagulia/self-determination, Ujima/collective work and responsibility, Ujamaa/cooperative economics, Nia/purpose, Kuumba/creativity, and Imani/faith.

The African American Museum in Philadelphia will celebrate Kwanzaa with two events. Join AAMP as it uplifts the seven principles of the season (the Nguzo Saba) through songs, stories, art and discussion.

The first event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 26. It will focus on Umoja and include a Kinara Candle Lighting with Keepers of the Culture, Kwanzaa 101 Lessons from Mama Maisha Ogonza of Kwanzaa Cooperative, "Seeding Wellness and Self-Care" presented by Doctors from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, and "Kwanzaa Creativitys" with Jihan Thomas, virtually.

The second event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 30. It will focus on Nia and include a Kinara Candle lighting with Keepers of the Culture, "Seeding Wellness and Self-Care," and "Kwanzaa Creativitys," virtually.

Tickets are $10 to $14.

Get your tickets for 'Stomp'

Kimmel Cultural Campus' Broadway Series will feature performances of "Stomp" at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 28 and 29, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 30 and 31, and 1 and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 2.

"Stomp" features an eight-member troupe which uses everything except conventional percussion instruments – matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps – to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms.

Shows will be presented at the Merriam Theater at 250 S. Broad St., in Philadelphia.

Skate, shop, wine and dine at Renault's Vintner Wonderland

Renault Winery has been transformed into a Vintner Wonderland, where visitors are invited to skate, shop, wine and dine through Feb. 27.

The main attraction is the outdoor, Renault Rink, which is designed for skaters of all ages and skill levels.

Tickets are $12 for skating and $10 for skate rental. Skaters may bring their own skates. Advance ticket purchase is recommended as capacity is limited and ticket prices may be higher at the gate.

Visitors are also invited to enjoy live entertainment, take a stroll through holiday lighting displays, enjoy seasonal and other beverages, and grab a casual snack outside or make a reservation for dining in the tasting room.

Plus, regional and local craft vendors and artists will be on site to offer holiday ornaments, toys, scarves, glassware, figurines, artwork, apparel and more for sale.

Last chance to celebrate Christmas Underwater at Adventure Aquarium

Christmas Underwater will continue at Adventure Aquarium from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Dec. 24.

This holiday season, families are invited to continue the tradition of visiting Scuba Santa as he dives in the aquarium's Ocean Realm exhibit sharing Christmas cheer with kids of all ages.

This year the event will feature even more holiday decorations, underwater light displays, festive new shows and the "world's largest underwater Christmas tree."

Pushcart Players extend virtual run of 'Holiday Tales'

Pushcart Players will present "Holiday Tales: A Season of Miracles" virtually at 1 p.m. Dec. 26 to 31.

This magical musical will warm the hearts of family audiences with the true spirit of the December holidays of Christmas, Chanukah and Kwanzaa, and families can view the production from the comfort of their homes.

The show visits:

  • O. Henry's "The Gift of the Magi"

  • "The Kwanzaa Kite," an original scene in Nigeria.

  • "The Chanukah Miracle," a story based on the wise men of Chelm folklore.

  • E.T.A. Hoffmann's "The Nutcracker."

Every tale reflects the spirit of the holidays and the people that celebrate them. Music and orchestrations are by Tony Award-winning composer, Larry Hochman, book is by Pushcart co-founder, Ruth Fost, and direction is by artistic director Paul Whelihan.

South Jersey Holiday Light Show continues at Bridgeport Speedway

The South Jersey Holiday Light Show will continue at Bridgeport Speedway beginning at 5 p.m. on select nights through Dec. 30.

This drive-thru experience will feature one-mile of holiday lights synchronized to music on your car radio. Santa's Vacation, Twisting Tunnel and a Rainforest complete with animals are among the displays.

Admission is $23 per vehicle for tickets for a specific date and time or $35 for a VIP pass which allows entry whenever the attraction is open. Advance ticket purchases are required for Fridays and Saturdays.

The speedway is at 83 Flood Gate Road in Swedesboro.

Enjoy WinterFest Ice Skating at Cooper River Park

WinterFest Ice Skating at Cooper River Park, presented by the Camden County Board of Commissioners, is open through Feb. 21.

WinterFest also offers a heated concession tent with arcade games and dining areas.

Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays, noon to 10 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 9 p.m. Sundays.

Tickets are $8.50 for ages 12 to 65, $6.50 for ages 4 to 11, $5.50 for 65 and older and veterans with identification, and free for age 3 and younger.

Skate rental is $5.50.

DiDonato Family Fun Center invites you to celebrate the holidays by visiting for its "All Aboard DiDonato's Magical Holiday Express" event.

Hours are 4:45 to 9 p.m. through Dec. 23. The attraction will also be open from 4:45 to 9 p.m. Dec. 26 to 29 (Santa and Mrs. Claus of course will have returned to the North Pole and will not be available to attend).

The event will feature:
